David Foor and I ended up in fourth place overall at the Fox Chain of Lakes PMTT Qualifier this weekend with a thirty-seven and three quarter incher. We saw over forty different muskies up to forty-eight inches long during the tourney, and I caught my fish on a black creature/jig combo in four feet of water. I missed a forty-four incher and a mid-thirties incher on Saturday and another mid-thirties incher first thing on Sunday morning! These three muskies came in hard to eat the jig, but all three grabbed the rubber tail rather than engulf the jig like the fish I caught did. The good news is we made the Top 5 and probably are a lock to make the Championship Event in October, but had one of those fish eaten the jig better, we would have been no worse than second place! We are happy with our finish though with the tough bite, and now we head to Eagle River in late June.
