Let's see. 34 degrees, strong north winds, and snow flurries. Must be opener?
Am I going out? No way!

If I remember right, last year was a horse s h i t opener as well.
You could probably pick up a few eyes on the way back from picking Dick up, if he's still interested. Show him how to catch them without 80 lb. test.

Yeh,you're right, now that I think of it,all my 30 inchers have been on 100 lb test.
I still hate to steal muskie bait though.:(

Believe it, or not, the weather got a bit nicer in the afternoon. And Scarlett and I snuck out for about 2 hours. You could certainly tell we were in the midst of a cold front. Not much happening. Tried Porno Point...no dice.
Hooked a decent fish that I got half way to the boat before loosing it at Soldier's Point. And nothing at a few spots south of the island.
Saw a couple of other boats out, but not a fish caught.
Sure more fun than laying floor tile.

What!! Did I really read the previous post. FW went Walleye fishing without guiding anyone. Has to be the first time this has happened or maybe he has cabin fever. Just think how good fresh fried Walleye would taste with the Morels I found at the farm this weekend. In fact, that is what I am going to have.

You know I posted this for your benefit. Only thing I hate worse than walleye, is mushrooms.
Sure glad I'm not paying to be here right now. Went out for a bit this afternoon, and not a bump. Hopefully the stable weather will kick them into gear. At least next week, we'll have the options fishing the Canadian side offers.

Isn't that Sir Elton? And just how do you know him?
By the way, caught a couple of big walleyes off the dock today on a spinnerbait. Biggest was about 28 inches. And one became Scarlett's dinner.
Hear that Smith????? My dog is eating fresh walleye, and you're not!

I am glad that Scarlett enjoys one of the finer eating fish in the lake. Did you prepare it fried, baked, grilled or sushi style? Keep one for Gary. He might need a professionally cooked shore lunch instead of Barbecue Ribs.
