Catfish fun..or distraction?

Stopped at the Buckhorn Bridge late afternoon on Tuesday. Was kinda crowded in the middle so ended up floating crappie minnows off the southern end. Not even 2 minutes into it ..BAM! 16" catfish. Fun to catch. 3 more within the next half hour. Was a good time for stopping on the way from work.. or so I thought.
Walleye, Crappie, Bass are all great fishing. It appears from a few guys I talked to that Catfish are more of a distraction then a gamefish in these parts. Tell me it's not so!! Did I happen to talk to the only three guys who think that way, or should I put my catfish fry gear away?

They are fun to catch, but they are catch and release for me. :)

Well, at least you agree they are fun to catch. Kinda like a log that swims. It could be that cats from the Tennessee river system taste differant then these. I'll mark you down for 'fun', so I don't feel alone :)
