Wednesday greeted my 2 clients and I with somewhat breezy conditions, (40 MPH) with gusts even higher, with those conditions, we decided to play it safe and stay in calmer waters and hope for a decent bite. Anchoring on top of the deep rock humps in anywhere from 16 to 25 feet of water, we boated many active walleye on our 1/4 ounce Reeves weedless jigs tipped with fatheads. For the most part, the eyes were either on top of these deep rock humps, or were relating to the sharp dropping edges that dropped off to 30 feet or more. No big fish to speak of, but we did have good numbers and had our limits of 14 to 16 inchers, not to mention a little sunburn and 88 degree temps.
Back out on Friday, will keep you posted.
