We'll be heading up tomorrow staying on Pickerel and fishing there most of the time but we wanted to head to some other waters for Musky and Walleye. We fished a lot of other waters in the area but I was wondering if anyone has ever fished Lake Carrol for walleye/musky. Anyone?

We were also planning on dropping on Big Arb, Little Arb, Big Saint and little Saint as well. Any advice/suggestions for musky would be appreciated.

Thanks all!

Nick,

I just got back from St. Germain and fished Carroll, Little Arb, Pickerel and Little Saint. The water temp should hit 60 by the time you get there, Musky's are in the shallows spawning on Little Arb. Crappies hadn't started on their beds, still hanging in deeper water but that should change when the water gets above 60. Not much luck on walleyes windy all week. Hope this helps.

It's been awhile but unless it's changed you'll need a seasonal state park sticker or a daily pass to fish Carrol. Keep that in mind if you lake hop. This weekend the DNR will probably check the landings.

Carrol's a beautiful north woods lake and has a nice fishery. Check out the Hot Spots maps for this lake and the other ones you mentioned. Certainly no secrets out there. IMO try fishing for walleyes and you might catch a musky. Fishing with a jig and retail/chub minnow could result in more muskys than traditional gear this time of year. Have fun
