Musky season opened up this weekend in northern Wisconsin and I fished for them the past three days with some terrific guests who came in all the way from California and New York. Saturday and Sunday we had boated two smaller muskies and had lots of follows during flat calm and sunny conditions. Today the wind really picked up and was howling all day. It was tough to fish in the big wind, but we did ok as one of my guests managed to boat a nice, fat 45 inch musky. The fish hit a Big Game Twitch Bait worked along a cabbage weed bed in 9 feet of water. It was a really nice, really mean fish, and it made our day. We also had a couple other follows, both on the twitch bait.
I haven't tried the crappies for a few days but they are shallow and spawning right now. Maybe I can get the kids out for some crappie action this week. I'll post a picture of the 45 inch musky in the morning.
