Two of us caught two 20" keeper walleyes this a.m. and four throwbacks. Also one large perch and a small pike. Best presentation was a split shot and plain hook laying flat on bottom on a slack line in 24'. We also lost a couple other fish that were probably keeper walleyes.
Also had some unexpected and unwelcome truck trouble on the way home. The harmonic balancer (outboard end of the crankshaft) broke off while I was simply driving along CR 426. I wasn't towing anything, and I had no advance indication of any potential trouble. I have previously seen broken crankshafts, but only when an engine was being worked on, never while driving along in a vehicle that ran great up to that time. Had to have a friend pull the Explorer back to Cornell, where I suppose it's final resting place will be. Too bad, since it is in otherwise very good condition.
