Fished in Mercer last weekend and the weekend before. Things were very successful for us we had lots of follows and landed the following 30", 33", 36", 36", 38", 40", 41", 42". Keep in mind that was over four days of fishing the morning and evening. Glide baits very shallow over fresh weeds provided ALL the action. This is my first time reporting hope it helps. We fished smaller lakes 400 acres or less. No TFF. Also we use 7" to 9" gliders.

pictures are only of the 42" perhaps later ill post others.

Nice fish
Seems like there has been some good musky action on some of the smaller lakes in the area. My friends were staying at the family cabin and did good on muskies this last two weekends. Any bigger follows?

Yes we had several big follows, and also lost a very nice fish. Right before a storm came in we had a upper 40 or close 50 on and lost it :-(

Specifically which glide baits do you prefer for musky fishing? Thanks

Not being a musky fisherman, on purpose that is, whatsa Glide Bait?

You twitch or jerk it, and it glides forward and down in alternating directions in an underwater walk-the-dog motion. Usually, the faster you work it, the closer to the surface it stays. In deeper water, you can count it down before beginning the retrieve. Reef Hawgs and Mantas are a couple of the best known examples. The new Rapala X-Rap Subwalk is a mini version that's dynamite for smallies.

Oh okay, so it's what we used to call a do nothin' bait, meaning that it does nothing until you impart the action to it. Thanks Blue!
