I was up in Bayfield County last week fishing with the family. We hit a nasty cold front last Saturday when we first got up there. Highs in the low 50's, lows in the mid 30's, and rain. Water temps dropped 5-6 degrees the first few days. Fish moved to deeper water and tight to cover. I really had to work for them. Luckily, the front moved out by Tuesday and it was game on again. Fish started to move in closer to shoreline cover and by the end of the week water temps were at 58-60. All fish were caught on finesse presentations. Craw Papi's and 4 inch worms worked the best pitching to cover. I couldn't crank the rock piles this year because of the cold water moss that was growing on the rocks. For the first time in years, a black bear came close to the cabin. Couldn't get the camera out before she disappeared back in the woods. All in all still a great trip.
