My buddy Bruce called me up the other night, saying one of the guys he works with from Oklahoma was up, and wanted to know if I'd take them fishing. No problem. Dale comes up a couple times a year, and the three of us usually have a good time fishing. I took them down to the Ford River and we did well catching bass on tube jigs. Thing started out a little slow. The tubes we normally throw in there weren't producing. Once we tied on some bright chartreuse ones, things started to turn around. We landed 16 or 17 between the three of us. Most were anywhere between 6 and 17 inches. I took home big fish honors with a fish just over 20 inches. I've caught a lot of nice smallies so far this season, but that was my first "20" of the year. Hope it's not the last.
