Muskies Active for Eric and Chris!
Last week I had Eric and Chris up from Chicago for a day of musky fishing... Or should I say, musky catching! Eric called me to see if the fishing was still hot and I confidently told him to expect a great trip. He could tell by the tone of my voice that I was excited about all the fish that I have been encountering on my past outings. And that they should expect to have great action. The day was perfect, sunny and calm, perfect conditions for a late fall fishing trip.
We had action starting form the first drift all through out the day. I know that we missed the first three fish, and from then on, Eric and Chris hooked into at least 10 more muskies! We literally lost count of how many fish we caught. By looking back at the photos, we caught 8 leagals and two undersized muskies. All fish were hard fighters and very healthy. Plus they caught two very nice northern pike. One of the pike was a 38 inch fish with a very big head. The last fish of the day, Eric said that I should catch because they just had beyond their expectations for their day! It ended up being the largest fish of the day, a fat 45 inch musky. But it wasn't the last fish, because Eric ended up getting one more musky and 5 leagal walleyes!
It will surely be a day that we will never soon forget. I'm looking forward to the next time Eric, Chris and I get together for more fantastic fishing!
