Weekend Fishing 5/18, 5/19
Saturday’s musky hunt started out on the slow side with a few accidental bass and no musky sightings until late-morning when a 40” male decided to crush a Legend Outcast and break the lip on the bait. A few hours later, a 42” female hammered a swimbait in the bright sun………she had some spawning scars on her but still had some acrobatics for us. The only 2 muskies we saw hit the bottom of the bag and both of those muskies were the first muskies caught by either angler.
Sunday started out the same as Saturday with several bass (only 2 were mature) spread across the entire day. We did not see any Esox all day long but 1 of the bass was a 22”/4.5 pound stud that thought our musky baits looked pretty good.
Water levels are up a little and there is a bit of color coming in from the tributaries as you get south of Warren. Water temps are running in the 56-60 degree range depending on location.
I am not planning to be anywhere near the river this weekend.
Good luck and stay tuned!
