We launched the boat equipped with sweatshirts and long pants Tuesday morning as the air temps were 48 degrees in July. After a few hours of washing lures and seeing zero signs of life anywhere. Since it was super sunny, we hit some dark bottomed areas hoping for some active fish of any species would be warming up. Merv connected with a 22”/4.3 pound smallie around 11 and Jack stuck a nice pike about 30 minutes later.

We wrapped things up around noon but in hind-sight, maybe we should have stayed a little longer……

River temps South of Warren had dropped a little but should rebound by the holiday. As for me, I have been splitting time between the boat and the golf course this year. I am not sure which one is the most frustrating but leaning towards golf at the moment.

Good luck, stay tuned and Happy 4th!
