Hit the ice on Saturday with my neighbor, Jason Gorr, and we had a blast limiting out on big bluegills up to 9 3/4 inches, and catching some nice crappies up to 12 inches. We keyed in on depths of 10-12 feet and weed flats to find active fish. I was using 6lb. Vicious Panfish line in high-vis yellow coupled with a Rat-Finkee ice jig and a wax worm. My rod of choice was the Bro Series Ultra-light ice combo by Frabill. Jason brought his underwater camera and it was really helpful in that we could pull our jigs away from the smaller bluegills to conserve our bait. Warm temperatures and over twenty inches of ice made for a great outing on the water!
